I started programming when I was 12 years old. I have always been interested in the Web and web technologies. While I have extensive full-stack skills, I prefer working on back-end systems. I'm interested in functional programming, high scalability, computer networks and open source development. When I'm not on my computer, I like to spend my time volunteering or hiking.

Can JavaScript from untrusted sources be safely executed on the JVM?

Published by Howest

My Bachelor's thesis, for which I received 18/20 (summa cum laude). The purpose of this research paper is to find if it is possible to securely run JavaScript, originating from an untrusted source, on the Java Virtual Machine. After an analysis of the risks associated with this, I review viable platforms for running both JavaScript and Node.js on the JVM. My findings indicate that it is currently not possible to securely execute JavaScript on the Java Virtual Machine.
