  • Lead the Sensitive Data Protection feature within Guard Premium, a policy-backed data protection capability safeguarding 3,000+ of Atlassian's highest-value customers.

  • Own architecture and technical direction for a system processing hundreds of gigabytes of customer data daily, scaling to multiple terabytes on peak days.

  • Carried the Sensitive Data Protection product forward from Borneo's core technology following its acquisition by Atlassian, integrating it into Atlassian's platform and compliance surface.

  • Set technical and product direction for the team: balancing near-term delivery with architecture decisions designed to extend cleanly as scope and scale grow; mentor engineers and drive design reviews.

  • Played an instrumental role in taking a Series A startup to acquisition by Atlassian, which was specifically seeking a team with proven experience building policy engines at scale and deep familiarity with security and data frameworks across the world.

  • Led engineering for Borneo's Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Policy Compliance product — designed and built the platform itself, giving customers automated detection, scoring, and remediation guidance against CIS, NIST, AWS, and PCI DSS frameworks.

  • Designed and built the policy engine underpinning the product, allowing customers to reuse and extend built-in policies or author fully custom compliance frameworks.

  • Owned the feature end-to-end, from posture data ingestion through detection and governance, processing several gigabytes of data per day in a fast-moving startup environment.

• Senior Software Engineer, Turbot

  Steampipe & Powerpipe.

  • One of two architects behind Steampipe (steampipe.io), an open source project sponsored by Turbot — involved in designing and building the product from scratch, and in driving its ongoing direction.

  • Designed and built the service layer, core execution engine, concurrency control, and query execution, along with core parts of the PostgreSQL Foreign Data Wrapper that bridges the engine with its plugin ecosystem.

  • Built the full automated test suite powering continuous integration and delivery.

  • Held the same architect role on Powerpipe (powerpipe.io), a sister Turbot project — design, development, and product direction.

  • One of the first projects at Turbot: built the Turbot CLI, a Node.js tool with an embedded runtime for interacting with and controlling Turbot instances.

  • Personally built plugins for MongoDB Atlas, HIBP, PanOS, and CrowdStrike, and led development of numerous other plugins across the ecosystem; active in the user community.

  - Present

  Policy-as-code platform with a custom language and execution engine.

  • Founder of Sentrie, a policy-as-code platform — defined the product and technical direction from the ground up.

  • Designed and built the custom policy language end to end: lexer, parser, and AST generation.

  • Designed and built the execution engine, including a TypeScript escape hatch for extending policies beyond the native language.

  Open source project sponsored by Turbot, replacing custom scripts with SQL-queryable infrastructure.
