I'm Lee! I'm a full-stack engineer, weird dad, avid gamer, cyclist, pop-culture enthusiast 🎥, and music lover (and musician!) 🎸 from Calgary, AB. With over 7+ years of experience in both frontend and backend development, I have the expertise you need to bring your project to life. My focus is on crafting high-quality user experiences no matter the technology. Lately, I've been using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Vercel + Vercel AI, Tailwind CSS, PHP, Laravel, and anything else a project calls for. I am able to learn on-the-fly and use the right tools for the job.

Technology Lead
Cashew
 https://cashewresearch.com
As Technology Lead, I work closely with the CTO to build a massive green-field application aimed at changing the way companies do market research. Using bleeding-edge AI technologies and fundamental architectures like Next.js, we're developing a next-generation tool to make market research available to all.
  • Built out frontend flows for survey generation, management, and participant fielding
  • Incorporated Next.js 15 and React 19 to our stack to deliver lightning-quick page responses and take full advantage of server-side rendering and RSC in tandem with Next.js' App Router and API routes

Technology Lead
Wreno
 https://wreno.io
As Technology Lead, I worked closely with a team of 4 engineers to deliver features and improvements to their flagship applications. My focus during my time there was on performance, which I was able to deliver significant improvements to.
  • Closely examined performance bottlenecks with the data layer to deliver improvements to query performance. The stack used an ORM called Sequelize that, while a great DX, obfuscated performance concerns under auto-magical APIs. Taking a close look at these queries helped deliver improved performance and establish best-practices for working with the tool.

Senior Fullstack Engineer, Team Lead
Contra
 https://contra.com
As a Senior Fullstack Engineer and Team Lead, I was able to lead and make technical decisions for a variety of projects throughout my tenure there. Bringing bold, modern designs to life on the frontend and delivering performant APIs on the backend allowed me to manage implementation from front-to-back and ensure seamless experiences.
  • Built the initial Contra Pro Portfolios experience which allows users to quickly generate and customize their own Portfolio either on a sub-domain or custom domain with bold templates and colorways to choose from
  • Built the new Discover during offered an updated, more usable experience powered by AI. By generating embeddings for user's traits and attributes, we were able to quickly convert text search into powerful, relevant results
  • Built the new Project flow which allowed clients to create Projects, transition them into Job Postings, and then manage applicants and eventually contractors who were chosen for the work - one of the most comprehensive flows built while at Contra

  • Built out the frontend applications for LodgeLink
  • Worked on a large variety of projects across multiple stacks from JavaScript to React to C# to Java - tons of variety and experience.
