hello@leemulvey.comCalgary, Alberta, CAleemulvey.comBlueskyLinkedIn

I'm Lee! I'm a full-stack engineer, weird dad, avid gamer, cyclist, pop-culture enthusiast, and music lover (and musician!) from Calgary, AB. With over 8+ years of experience in both frontend and backend development, I have the expertise you need to bring your project to life. My focus is on crafting high-quality user experiences no matter the technology. Lately, I've been using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Vercel + Vercel AI, Tailwind CSS, and anything else a project calls for. I am able to learn on-the-fly and use the right tools for the job.

Ava Labs
Mar 2025

As a Senior Software Engineer at Ava Labs, I work on the Core Web team to build the web-based interface for the Core Wallet. The redesign in 2025 was a green-field project that allowed me to work with cutting-edge technologies and architectures to deliver a seamless experience for users to interact with the Avalanche blockchain and its ecosystem.

  • Independently integrated DeFi functionality into Core Web to allow users access to lending/borrowing pools
  • Implementing support for Ethereum (EVM), Solana (SVM), and Bitcoin (BVM) blockchains on Core Web
  • Built and deployed a custom provider for Wagmi to allow Core wallet connection, and seamless event-based communication between Core Wallet and Core Web
  • Developed creative technical solutions in collaboration with 5+ teams, including design, product, and mobile development, to deliver user-focused products

Cashew
Jul 2024 - Feb 2025

As Technology Lead, I work closely with the CTO to build a massive green-field application aimed at changing the way companies do market research. • Collaborated with the CTO on the architectural design and deployment of a green-field market research survey platform powered by Claude
  • Designed and developed a full-stack experience for both survey creators and respondents
  • Incorporated Next.js 15 and React 19 to deliver quick page responses and optimize server-side rendering and RSC in tandem with Next.js' App Router and API routes

Technology Lead

  • Led feature development for Contra Portfolio, Contra Pro’s flagship paid feature, using React and TypeScript
  • Led feature development of the entire Contra Pro subscription flow, with both front and backend integration using Stripe to support our payments functionality

Lee's contributions formed the technical and cultural foundation of what Contra is today. He believed in our mission, he meshed with the team, and he made things happen. Lee helped us build through the most turbulent times. Priorities would shift mid-flight, but Lee always pulled through. That can-do attitude is how we got our first major partnership with TikTok across the line in just a couple of weeks. He showed up for the team-constantly in PRs giving thoughtful feedback, helping people get work merged, and keeping things moving. Custom profiles, template work, job pricing-everything he touched had ownership behind it. Lee made the product better, the codebase cleaner, and the team stronger. I'd jump at any chance to work with Lee again.
