Worked on a study on eating and well-being in college students under a multi-institution project CampusLife- An effort to improve student well-being through digital data
Build algorithm for android-based feature computation of raw sensor data previously executed in Python in a Desktop environment
Developed pipeline for visualization (Plotly), cleaning & augmentation of data collected through self-report surveys and eating gesture raw data from off-the-shelf wrist watch and mobile application data
Build algorithm to test correlation between meal patterns, meal company/environment, mental well-being and mobile data
Recently submitted research paper on this work to ACM Interactive, Mobile Wearable and Ubiquitous Technologies (IMWUT) 2020
Image Processing and ML Intern,
May, 2019 - Aug, 20193 months
Technology: Image Processing, OCR, Convolutional Neural Networks, Python, TensorFlow, Augmentor
Worked on digitization of readings of medical device displays using images taken from a cellphone camera
Build a deep learning model to recognize & monitor blood pressure(BP) readings of preeclamptic populations of rural Guatemala using cellphone camera images of digital BP meter displays collected in a study
Generated an artificial dataset using a blank BP LCD image and a realistic font, augmented by realistic noises similar in visual appearance to test data to improve estimation accuracy.
Mean absolute error after estimation on artificial BP images: Systolic BP(0.1 mmHg), Diastolic BP(0.2 mmHg)

Study of Intelligent Evacuation Systems of High-Rise Buildings in India-a review, IEEE 2016 International Conference on Computing, Analytics and Security Trends (CAST)
Published on: May 01, 2017
This paper presents literature review of intelligent evacuation management systems in high-rise buildings all over the world so as to validate it to improve the evacuation systems in existing high-rise buildings in India. It studies means of egress, evacuation strategies & models along with crowd monitoring and prediction strategies employed in high-rise buildings. Based on this review, the author presents a decision model using information available in the form building and egress specifications as well as information variables like occupant density (RFID technology), spread and location of fire (Smoke Sensor Technology), etc. to guide the rescue team for fast and safe evacuation of building occupants
